Abstract

In this master thesis development possibility of new cruising destination in Croatia was elaborated. Possibility is based on the analysis of cruising industry and european market trends. The most visited Croatian ports as international cruise destinations are : Dubrovnik, Korčula, Split, Zadar and Rovinj. None of these ports has become operational as „Home port“. In the Adriatic sea only Venice is port of that profile. According needs, trends and now legal ships size limitations , one port may be as replacement or even by the offer in logistic, natural and relief benefits, possibilities of unlimited size of ships and competing ports. Bakar bay , land of former coke plant established itself as the ideal candidate with attractive location has all the necessary qualities for the development of the port from which the ship will move to the top cruise destinations. Port where they return at the end of the cruise, have all the necessary logistical support for sucessfull cruise realization, meeting the growing and demanding needs of travelers but also harmonize their demands with sustainable shore development .
