Abstract
Brodski kronometar je precizan sat složene konstrukcije koji se pokazao jednim od bitnijih instrumenata na brodu. Pokazuje srednje Greenwich vrijeme (Ts). Kronometar nije u potpunosti točan jer dnevno žuri/kasni što se zapravo zove dnevni hod kronometra. Kronometar zahtijeva održavanje i očuvanje, te postoje određene norme za rukovanje istim uređajem. Razlika između srednjeg Greenwich vremena i vremena kojeg nam kronometar u tom trenutku daje zove se stanje kronometra. Stanje kronometra se može odrediti na različite načine. Na brodu se mora nalaziti dnevnik u kojem će se upisivati stanje i hod kronometra. Vrijeme kao pojam teško je definirati, može označavati trenutak nekog događaja ili razmak vremena između dva uzastopna događaja. Definiciju dana možemo gledati kao razmak između dva uzastopna prolaza nekog određenog nebeskog tijela kroz neki meridijan. Upravo prema tome ovisno koje nebesko tijelo promatramo razlikujemo zvjezdani, sunčev, mjesečev i planetarni dan. Zemlja je podijeljena meridijanima u 24 zone u kojem svaka zona mjeri svoje vrijeme po svojem središnjem meridijanu.
Abstract (english)
The ship's chronometer is a precise clock of a complex construction that proved to be one of the most important instruments on board. It shows Greenwich Mean Time (Ts). Chronometer requires maintenance and preservation, and there are certain standards for handling this device. Chronometer condition and walk is kept in the chronometer log on board. Time as a term is difficult to define, it can indicate the moment of an event or the time interval between two consecutive events. The definition of the day can be seen as the distance between two consecutive passages of a certain celestial body through a meridian. That is exactly how we define the sky, the sun, the moon, and the planet day. The Earth is divided into meridians in 24 zones where each zone measures its time with their central meridian.
