Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
With the emergence of the global crisis in the world, real-estate prices droped heavily, enforcement became everyday life for people all over the world and the unemployment worldwide grew pacing. The crisis hit the Republic of Croatia later then the rest of the world, so while global disturbances are only a partial reason for a financial crisis in Croatia, the real ''culprits'' are the transition, war, criminal privatization during the Civil war and misguided economic policy that is geared to price stability and exchange rates, rather than the development of the economy. At this time, state aid was increased and directed to state-owned enterprises and various economic sectors to help them cope with the crisis. State aid is the most important element of state protectionism and it directly affects the market position of certain companies, but on the other hand puts companies which are not recipients of state aid in a disadvantage.
