Abstract
Metali su nevjerojatno svestran materijal koji je prisutan u gotovo svim konstrukcijama pa tako i u brodogradnji te brojnim konstrukcijama unutar mora. Međutim, ako se koriste nepravilno ili u potencijalno opasnom okruženju, mogu postati iznenađujuće krhki. Kada je riječ o metalima, mjesta na kojima se nalazi slana voda među najnemilosrdnijima su zbog neizbježnosti korozije. Većina metala i legura u pomorskim operacijama neizbježno je podložno uništenju koje izaziva korozija, jer je more bogato prirodnim elektrolitima i vrlo nagrizajuće. Stoga se, kako bi se morski resursi učinkovito koristili i aktivno odgovorili na održivi razvoj, razvijaju posebne metode održavanja i premazivanja metala koji su u morskoj vodi kako bi se smanjio ili gotovo u potpunosti neutralizirao utjecaj korozije na metale. Na taj način značajno se produžuje vijek metalnih konstrukcija na brodovima i morskim objektima te se smanjuju troškovi popravaka, zamjena i drugih operacija.
Abstract (english)
Metals are an incredibly versatile material that is present in almost all constructions, including shipbuilding and numerous constructions within the sea. However, if used improperly or in a potentially hazardous environment, they can become surprisingly fragile. When it comes to metals, places where salt water is found are among the most ruthless due to the inevitability of corrosion. Most metals and alloys in maritime operations are inevitably susceptible to destruction that causes corrosion because the sea is rich in natural electrolytes and highly corrosive. Therefore, as marine resources are efficiently used and actively respond to sustainable development, special methods of maintaining and coating metals present in seawater are being developed to reduce or almost completely neutralize the impact of corrosion on metals. In this way, the lifespan of metal structures on ships and marine structures is significantly produced, and the costs of repairs, replacements and other operations are reduced.
