Abstract
Kodiranje u računalnim tehnologijama znači pretvaranje nekih riječi ili neke poruke u traženi format, tako što se simboli u originalnoj poruci zamjenjuju sa simbolima neke druge abecede. Ti kodovi se koriste za procesuiranje informacija, što uključuje izradu i izvršavanje programa, pohranu, kompresiju ili dekompresiju, te za obradu podataka. Da bi se signal poslao sa jedne lokacije na drugu, on mora biti kodiran. Kod metoda entropijskog kodiranja kodiranje se vrši bez gubitaka, a zasniva se isključivo na teoriji informacije. Omjer kompresije kod entropijskog kodiranja ovisi samo o statističkim svojstvima izvora informacije. U ovom radu prikazano je pet metoda entropijskog kodiranja, a to su: Shannon-Fanovo kodiranje, Huffmanovo kodiranje, aritmetičko kodiranje, metode rječnika i metode skraćivanja niza.
Abstract (english)
Coding in computer technology means converting some words or a message into the required format, by replacing symbols in the original message with symbols from another alphabet. These codes are used to process information, which includes compiling and running programs, storing, compressing or decompressing, and processing data. In order for a signal to be sent from one location to another, it must be encrypted. Within entropy coding methods, coding is performed without losses, and is based exclusively on information theory. The compression ratio in entropy coding depends only on the statistical properties of the information source. In this paper, five entropy coding methods are presented, namely: Shannon-Fano coding, Huffman coding, arithmetic coding, dictionary methods, and simple repetition suppression.
