Abstract
U ovom završnom radu govori se o Značaju ljudskog faktora u pomorskim nesrećama. Posada je u većini slučajeva multikulturalna. Prilikom sastavljanja posade mora se paziti na više elemenata. Često je pojava da je u nekim kulturama nešto sasvim obično dok je u drugim iznimno uvredljivo. Isto tako, neke nacije razgovaraju glasnije dok druge sasvim tiho. Sve te i još mnoge druge kulturološke razlike je važno poznavati kako ne bi došlo do problema u komunikaciji među posadom. Loša komunikacija među posadom nikako nije dobrodošla jer je nekoliko sitnica dovoljno za izazivanje velike nesreće. Pomorske nesreće su veliki uzrok onečišćenja mora. Nekoliko je velikih pomorskih nesreća u povijesti bilo. Jedna od većih je nasukavanje tankera Exxon Valdez.
Abstract (english)
This final paper discusses the importance of the human factor in maritime accidents. The crew is multicultural in most cases. Several elements must be taken into account when assembling the crew. It is often the case that in some cultures something is quite common while in others it is extremely offensive. Likewise, some nations speak louder while others quite quietly. It is important to know all these and many other cultural differences in order to avoid problems in communication between the crew. Poor communication between the crew is by no means welcome as a few little things are enough to cause a major accident. Maritime accidents are a major cause of marine pollution. There have been several major maritime accidents in history. One of the bigger ones is the stranding of the Exxon Valdez tanker.
