Abstract

In this thesis the sea ports which act on the area of Republic of Croatia are analysed for passenger transport with a focus on a line transport, specialized for better connectivity of island and land population, as well as dynamism od cruise tourism including the increasingly popular nautical tourism which is included in the elite tourism with a high economic effects. Hereafter, through statistical data, the current situation of passenger traffic of sea ports: Rijeka, Zadar, Šibenik, Split and Dubrovnik, has been defined. From the given data, it is concluded that a sea port Split has the highest number of passengers and line transport vehicles and that sea port Dubrovnik is the most attractive destination for cruise ships. The Republic of Croatia has a potential for further development of cruise and nautical tourism primarily because of its maritime position as well as indented and long coast.
