Abstract
Namjena svjetlovodne tehnologije na brodovima je pružiti pouzdanost zbog svojih karakteristika kao što su veći prijenosni kapacitet, neosjetljivost na elektromagnetske poremećaje, manje veličine, jednostavnije i lakše instaliranje. Ovaj diplomski rad daje uvod u svjetlovodnu tehnologiju i uvid u arhitekturu optičke mreže kontrolne sobe za polaganje cijevi na cjevopolagačkom brodu. U radu je prikazana kontrolna arhitektura sustava, mrežno kabliranje, uređaji i oprema sustava te njihova međusobna konfiguracija uporabom svjetlovodne tehnologije.

Parallel abstract (English)
The purpose of optical technology on ships is to provide reliability due to its characteristics such as greater transmission capacity, insensitivity to electromagnetic disturbances, smaller size, simpler and easier installation. This thesis gives an introduction to optical technology and an insight into the architecture of the optical network control room for laying pipes on a pipelayer ship. This paper presents a control system architecture, network cabling, tools and equipment systems and their mutual configuration using fiber optic technology.
