In this paper under the title „Rights of passengers in maritime transport on cruise journeys“analyzes and explains the provisions of Directive 2015/2302 on package travel and linked travel arrangements, and analyzed the issues and disadvantages of Directive 90/314/EEC on package travel, package holidays and package tours. Introduction chapter of this paper highlights issues, purposes and target of this paper. The introductory chapter also contains a structure of this paper, hypothesis and scientific methods used during writing this paper. Second chapter contains the main features of maritime passenger transport and historical development of the international legal arrangement of passenger transport by sea. The most significant milestone in the legal form is the Athens Convention for the carriage of passengers and their luggage by sea from 2002. The third chapter describes Directive 1177/2010 on concerning the rights of passenger when travelling by sea and inland waterway and the most important provisions of the Directive. The fourth chapter analyzes the issues and disadvantages of Directive 90/314/EEZ on package travel, package holidays and package tours, and the reasons of adoption of the Directive 2015/2302 on package travel and linked travel arrangements. The final chapter of this paper presents the overall observations which was made during the writing this paper.
