Abstract
U ovom diplomskom radu istražena je i prouĉena uporaba tehnologije multipleksiranja s grubom valnom podjelom (engl. Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing, CWDM) kao dio prijenosnog sustava u gradskoj i pristupnoj telekomunikacijskoj mreži. Sve veća potreba za propusnosti zahtijeva nova, cjenovno prihvatljiva rješenja te je u ovom radu CWDM predložen kao rješenje. CWDM prenosi više optiĉkih signala preko jednog optiĉkog vlakna na razliĉitim valnim duljinama, odnosno „bojama“ svjetlosti te se na taj naĉin povećava propusnost vlakna. Takav se naĉin povećanja propusnosti temelji na što jeftinijim komponentama, a pritom se uklanja potreba za polaganjem dodatnih optiĉkih kabela, vlakana i prateće infrastrukture. Prezentirane su razliĉite primjene CWDM-a u gradskoj te pristupnoj mreži gdje se CWDM pokazao kao jednostavno i cjenovno prihvatljivo rješenje za pristupne mreže nove generacije.

Parallel abstract (English)
In this thesis, it has been researched and studied usage of coarse wavelength division multiplexing - CWDM as a part of transmission system in metro and access telecommunication network. All increasing need for bandwidth requires new, cost-effective solutions; in this thesis CWDM is proposed as a solution to increase bandwidth of optical fiber. CWDM transmits multiple optical signals on different wavelengths, “colors” of light over single optical fiber, by which it is possible to increase bandwidth of optical fiber. That approach is simpler and more cost-efficient then deployment of more optical cables, fibers and other parts of infrastructure. There are presented different applications of CWDM in metro and access network where CWDM is simple and cost efficient solution for next generation access networks.
