Abstract
U ovom radu se istražuje tema plastičnog onečišćenja oceana, radi se o globalnom problemu današnjice. Iz dana u dan raste potreba za proaktivnim rješenjima na globalnoj razini. Jednokratna plastika koju ponekad koristimo samo par sekundi možda duže, ostaje kao odraz ljudske nesvjesnosti stotinama godina kasnije. Sve više dolaze do izražaja posljedice konzumerizma plastičnih produkata, on se očituje u morskom okolišu u obliku mikroplastike, vrećica , ribolovnih mreža te ostalih odbačenih predmeta koji zatim postaju otrovni mamac za životinje. Akumulacijska područja plastičnog otpada tvore tzv. “otoke smeća“, na tom području otpad ostaje zarobljen vrtlozima morskih struja. Ugroženost morskog ekosustava plastikom se reflektira i na zdravlje ljudi u obliku poremećaja i bolesti. Cilj rada je upoznavanje s problematikom onečišćenja mora s plastikom te mu je svrha pronalazak mogućih rješenja. Edukacija na svim razinama školstva te intenzivnije upoznavanje javnosti o štetnosti plastike dovela bi do proaktivnog djelovanja te širenja ekološke svijesti.
Abstract (english)
This paper deals with the subject of plastic marine pollution it is a global problem nowdays. There is a growing need for a proactiv sollutions on a global scale. The one-time plastic we sometimes use only a few seconds maybe longer, remains like a reflection of human unconsciousness hundreds of years later. More and more the consequences of the consumerism of plastic products are manifested in the marine environment in the form of microplates, bags, fishing nets and other discarded objects that then become a poisonous bait for animals. Accumulating areas of plastic waste form the so-called "Garbage islands", in this area the waste remains captivated by whirlwinds of sea currents. The endangerment of marine ecosystems is also reflected in the health of humans in the form of disorders and illnesses. The aim of the paper is to get acquainted with the pollution of the sea with plastic and its purpose to find possible solutions. Education at all levels of faculites and a more intensive public awareness of the harmfulness of plastics would lead to proactive action and the spread of ecological awareness.
