Therefore, this paper, in its essence, outlines and discusses the possibilities of applying autonomous technology. In the second part is an overview of autonomous vehicles through the history. The third part deals with the advantages and disadvantages of autonomous vehicles. The fourth unit defines the levels of autonomy. The fifth unit explains the technical aspect of autonomy and the technology behind it. The sixth unit defines the position of autonomous vehicles today in the market. The seventh unit is a study of the future of autonomous vehicles. At the end of the paper is the conclusion about the position of autonomous vehicles today, their use and the future of autonomous vehicles.
