Abstract
U sklopu teme završnog rada, utjecaj sanitarnih otpadnih voda na morski okoliš, istražene su razne pojave kao i uzročnici pojava onečišćenja. Obrađene su i prikazane posljedice izlijevanja i ispuštanja brodskih sanitarnih otpadnih voda u morski okoliš i njihov utjecaj na čovjeka i cijeli morski ekosustav. Osim pravila i konvencija na međunarodnoj razini navedeni su i nacionalni propisi. Poseban naglasak u ovome radu je na MARPOL 73/78 konvenciji i njezinom prilogu IV koji detaljno prikazuje i tumači postupke kao i pravila vezana uz fekalije i njihovo ispuštanje. Konvencija i propisana pravila određuju kakvi će uređaji biti i što moraju ispuniti kako bi sanitarna voda bila kvalitetno obrađena prije ispuštanja.
Abstract (english)
The topic of this undergraduate thesis is the impact of sanitary wastewater on the marine environment. It investigates various ways in which pollution is generated and the way it is caused. The thesis also tackles the issue of consequences of ship's sanitary wastewater spills and discharges into the marine environment and its effect on humans and the entire marine ecosystem. It lists both international and national regulations and conventions concerning the prevention of sanitary wastewater discharge. In this thesis, special emphasis is placed on the MARPOL 73/78 Convention and its Annex IV that showcases and interprets various procedures, as well as regulations related to faeces and their discharge, in detail. Such conventions and regulations specify the type of devices and the requirements these devices have to meet for the sanitary wastewater to be properly treated before it is discharged.
