Located in the middle part od Adriatic Sea, between Split and Dubrovnik, the port of Ploče is one of strategic ports in Croatia. Although it is croatian port, its importance has a significant economy factor for the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so consequently, finishing the corridor Vc Ploče port will spread its management on other countries of West and Central Europe. During the history, the port had many oscilations in economy branch, but ever since the mid 2010, many big investments in modernization of business process occurred, and it has resulted with better business achievements. Many financial funds have been invested since then, regarding renewal of container and input terminal, which are finished, while the dry bulk terminal and the liquid terminal are still in the phase od construction. Beside of existing Oil terminal of Federation d.o.o. built in 1979., the Adriatic Tank Terminal d.o.o. is currently being constructed, and the amount of 135 milions euros has been ensured by ENNA and VTTI companies. It is estimated that as soon as it has been finished Adriatic Tank Terminal d.o.o. will initiate the growth of the whole region which gravitates to Ploče port, not only by new employment placements, but also throughout new projects which will create a new perspective of future port evolution.
