Abstract
Tema ovog završnog rada je razvoj Sustava za automatsku identifikaciju (engl. Automatic Identification System – AIS), kojim su se identifikacija i praćenje plovila na moru značajno unaprijedili. U radu je prikazan povijesni pregled razvoja sustava. Opisani su princip rada i značajke sustava, kao i vrste brodskih AIS uređaja. Upotreba sustava prikazana je također sa stanovišta navigacijskih pomagala, kao i dodatnih primjena, mimo primarne funkcije razmjena navigacijskih informacija. Trenutno stanje i budući razvoj sustava opisani su u kontekstu satelitske inačice sustava, kao i mogućih daljnjih primjena u pomorstvu, uvijek u funkciji sigurnosti plovidbe i zaštite morskog okoliša.
Abstract (english)
The topic of this thesis is the development of the Automatic Identification System (AIS), which has significantly improved the identification and tracking of vessels at sea. A historical overview of the system development is presented. The principle of operation and characteristics of the system are described, as well as the types of AIS equipment. The use of the system is also shown from the point of view of navigation aids, as well as additional applications, beyond the primary function of exchanging navigation information. The current state and future development of the system are described in the context of the satellite version of the system, as well as possible further applications in maritime affairs, always in the function of safety of navigation and the marine environment protection.
