Abstract
Ovaj završni rad obrađuje prometnu, geografsku i stratešku važnost luke Rijeka na koju otpada većina pomorske trgovine Republike Hrvatske. Uvidom u povijest riječke luke, poslovanja kroz godine te pozicioniranja u odnosu na glavne konkurente može se sagledati globalna slika luke Rijeka i povući jasna paralela sa logističkim sustavima koji omogućuju poslovanje i protok robe bez većih zastoja ili ekonomskih gubitaka. Zadnji dio završnog rada se bazira na problematiku riječke luke, odnosno potrebu revitalizacije i ulaganja u samu luku kako uz pomoć Republike Hrvatske tako i iz fondova Europske unije i njenih sunfinanciranja projekata koji su od vitalne važnosti za opstanak riječke luke i onoga što ona znači za hrvatsko gospodarstvo.
Abstract (english)
This final paper deals with the traffic, geographical and strategic importance of the port of Rijeka, which accounts for most of the maritime trade of the Republic of Croatia. Insight into the history of the Port of Rijeka, business over the years and positioning in relation to major competitors can see the global picture of the Port of Rijeka and draw a clear parallel with logistics systems that allow business and flow of goods without major delays or economic losses. The last part of the final paper is based on the issue of the port of Rijeka, ie the need for revitalization and investment in the port itself with help of Republic of Croatia and the funds of European Union and its co-financing of projects that are vital for the survival of the port of Rijeka and what it means for the Croatian economy.
